When I think about MLM leaders who stand out and had the biggest impact on my own career, there are a few who really stand out.
Today we are going to discuss the top MLM leaders who you should be following and learning from.
Tony Robbins said this:
If you want to achieve something, find the experts who have come before you and achieved what you want to achieve. If you take the same actions using the same techniques and resources, basic logic will tell you that you will achieve similar results.
The truth is, you don’t necessarily need to learn things the hard way anymore.
You now have access to a nearly unlimited amount of information on a device that you carry around in your pocket.
Instead of learning the hard way and making countless mistakes along the way, you can learn from others and avoid the costly mistakes that successful people had to make along the way.
So after talking about some of the top MLM leaders that you should follow online, we’ll talk about what you need to do in order to become one of those leaders.
1. Eric Worre
Eric Worre is an author and founder of Network Marketing Pro. He has spent his entire professional career in network marketing and built an organization of over 500,000 distributors.
After joining my first MLM company, my upline insisted that I read Eric’s book, Go Pro – 7 Steps To Becoming A Network Marketing Professional.
After doing so, I did a bit of research on Eric and found that his website was loaded with MLM training videos and super valuable interviews with top MLM leaders.
I binge watched all of the videos in the archives and gained an incredible amount of knowledge about recruiting, mindset, and managing a network marketing team.
Eric is no longer actively involved in a network marketing business and focuses solely on training distributors to become top earners in any company.
He produces a ton of content and hosts an annual live event where tens of thousands of network marketing professionals from all over the world show up to learn from the likes of Randy Gage, Tony Robbins, and even Richard Branson.
2. Ray Higdon
Of all the MLM leaders I’ve followed online, Ray Higdon has by far had the most impact on my life and career.
He became successful in network marketing after failing in 11 different network marketing companies. After joining his 12th company, he decided that he wasn’t going to give up until he had the results he wanted.
He went on to grow his income to $40,000 per month in less than a year by prolifically prospecting and cold calling leads.
The principle he followed to become successful is one that he has now taught to thousands of network marketers all over the world… Go For No.
He told himself that no matter what, he needed to get at least 20 no’s per day. If he failed to 20 no’s in a day, it simply meant that he didn’t invite enough people to take a look at his business.
This is the concept that changed the trajectory of his career forever.
He then took his business to the next level by starting his blog, RayHigdon.com. Ray is a prolific content creator and for many years, he would create one video and a blog post every single day… and patiently wait for the leads to come in.
While it took some time for the blog to gain traction, he has gone on to be one of the most successful bloggers in the network marketing space and has produced millions of dollars from his blog alone.
Ray’s blogging training is really what resonated with me and I went on to purchase every blogging course that he sold.
He has a succinct way of explaining things and breaking concepts down to the bare nuts and bolts so that even a beginner can understand what needs to be done.
3. Randy Gage
I discovered Randy Gage through Eric Worre’s website. Eric did an interview with Randy about what it takes to grow a huge network marketing team.
After doing a YouTube search, I found a talk that Randy gave at a conference, called Safe Is The New Risky.
He made the case as to why network marketing is the best option you have if you are a lower or middle class citizen trying to get ahead in a world of turmoil.
A world where technology is eating all major industries and central planners are hell-bent and devaluing our currencies, running deficits, and causing inflation.
I then found that Randy has written multiple books about building a successful network marketing business. His training focuses on simplicity… keep things as simple as humanly possible because it will create duplication in your business and drive massive growth in the long run.
Randy also takes professionalism very seriously. Of all the MLM leaders I’ve learned from, Randy is one of the most committed to ensuring that the reputation of network marketing be upheld.
He stresses integrity above all else.
Randy is no longer actively involved in network marketing and spends his time as an angel investor, author, and serial entrepreneur.
You can visit Randy’s website here.
4. Tom “Big Al” Schreiter
As a new network marketer trying to learn everything I could about the business, I was thrilled when I discovered Tom Shreiter and his 35 books.
Tom started his professional career as an engineer. When he learned about network marketing over 48 years ago, he immediately saw the power of the business model and the freedom that it could bring.
But as he has said in his writing, an engineering background does not translate well to a people business like network marketing… so he had a rough and painfully slow start.
Just like me and so many other network marketers out there.
But he did eventually figure it out and has gone on to make millions in the profession.
Tom is one of the most sought after MLM leaders and trainers in the world. He now travels the globe to teach people the latest brain science and how to use it to your advantage when prospecting and recruiting for your business.
You can learn more about Tom’s books here.
5. Sarah Robbins
I discovered Sarah Robbins on social media only a little while into my network marketing career.
And she is a social media master.
Sarah has built a 7 figure business using primarily social media strategies and retired her husband from his construction job at the age of 35. They now build their business together and travel the world teaching people how to succeed in MLM.
Before becoming the well known MLM leader that she is, Sarah was a teacher. She successfully transferred those teaching skills to her business career and built a massive team that duplicates and grows itself.
By the age of 29, Sarah had built a 6 figure monthly income.
Sarah is not only incredibly successful in her business, but she is also an advisor to several network marketing companies.
Her succinct style of teaching makes her somebody that you must follow if you plan to grow your business using social media.
You can visit Sarah’s website here.
6. Tanya Aliza
Tanya Aliza is another social media powerhouse.
She has harnessed the power of social media and blogging to build a massive 7 figure business in both MLM and affiliate marketing.
Tanya left her corporate finance job in 2010 and went full time into network marketing. Within 3 years, she was making an average full time income in her business.
After discovering internet marketing in 2014, Tanya’s income leapt from $60,000 per year to a massive $400,000 per year.
I found Tanya’s blog a few years into my own MLM career and she is one of the few MLM leaders who I have continued to follow and learn from over the years.
Her content is actionable and relatable… it’s clear that she remembers what it was like before becoming radically successful and her empathetic style of teaching makes her very effective and engaging.
I had the privilege of seeing her speak on stage in Austin, TX at a network marketing conference hosted by the team at MyLeadSystemPro.
She blew the room away with her knowledge and passion.
If you want to use the internet to grow your network marketing business, you should be learning from Tanya Aliza.
Learn more about Tanya on her blog.
7. Brian Carruthers
Brian Carruthers is an extremely successful network marketer and author.
I recently read his book Building An Empire.
This is a must read if you are brand new and need an A-to-Z guide on network marketing. But even if you’ve been involved in the business for quite some time, the sound and objective principles in this book will help you to streamline your business and become a more effective MLM leader.
Before starting his network marketing business, Brian had a very successful career as a real estate agent. While he was making good money, he was unhappy with the lack of time freedom his real estate career afforded him.
Life was just too busy.
When he learned about network marketing, the business model immediately made sense to him. He left his real estate job for network marketing and within 3 years, he had made over a million dollars in his business,
Brian has now made 7 figures per year for over 10 years straight. He has built an organization of over 400,000 distributors, 2 million customers, and has earned over $20 million in network marketing commissions.
His book, Building An Empire, is a must read for anyone who is ready to take their MLM business seriously.
You can also learn more about Brian on his website.
8. Darin Kidd
Before entering network marketing over 20 years ago, Darin Kidd went through a bankruptcy, which naturally caused him to go through a period where he felt like a complete failure.
Instead of letting that experience keep him down however, Darin got a fresh start in network marketing.
He has built huge organizations all over the world and even earned rewards for recruiting, sales, and retention of team members.
After officially leaving the network marketing industry, Darin continued his entrepreneurial ambitions and built a large brand online with a massive social media following.
The financial difficulties Darin faced in the past make him a relatable teacher and has gone on to mentor teachers, stay-at-home moms, doctors, engineers, and waiters.
He now runs a leadership course that promises to teach you how to duplicate yourself so that you can free up your time while at the same time continuing to grow your income.
Please note that I have not taken the leadership course myself (yet) but I have followed Darin for a while and feel quite confident mentioning him here as a recommendation.

9. Mark Yarnell
Mark Yarnell is just another inspiring success story in the network marketing profession.
Mark passed away in 2015 but has certainly left his mark on the network marketing profession. Thousands of people have learned from him over the years and his best selling book, Your First Year In Network Marketing, is broadly considered the Bible of network marketing.
Not only did Mark build an absolutely massive network marketing organization, but he was also an author of 11 books, a contributing editor to Success Magazine, and a notable philanthropist.
But making money was not enough for Mr. Yarnell. It was obvious that he wanted to leave the world a better place than when he entered it… and he certainly succeeded in doing so.
Mark’s philanthropy projects included founding a literacy organization for penitentiary inmates and the School Of Sobriety, the only free treatment program for addicts in Nevada.
If you are new to network marketing, Mark’s book is one that you must read.
And as you learn from Mark’s words, you can rest assured that you’ll be learning from a principled man who cared deeply about helping others even more than helping himself.
Become One Of These MLM Leaders
Like many new network marketers, one of your goals is likely to become one of these top earners. You wanna be up on that stage, receiving that big check, and impacting thousands of lives in the process.
Whether or not you want to become a well known brand, write books, and receive widespread recognition, the process to become a true leader in MLM is the same.
And really, it should go without saying…
Before you can become a leader in the business, you need to become successful first.
Before you can lead, you must follow existing leaders.
Learn the process, use it to become successful, and then teach it to others.
Before we get into the steps to succeed in network marketing, let’s do a quick summary of how network marketing works.
How Network Marketing Works
Network marketing is a business model in which a company will use independent distributors to market and deliver their products to end consumers.
They do this instead of using traditional advertisers and retail outlets.
You, as the distributor, will be tasked with selling products to folks in your network. For every sale you make, you will earn a small commission.
You will also need to build your own network of distributors that will each be distributing products and earning commissions for themselves… and you will get a commission for every sale in your network.
And each of those distributors will build their own networks. If done correctly, your network will grow exponentially as each distributor builds their own individual networks.
Many network marketing companies allow you to earn commissions from several levels of depth into your organization.

How To Become An MLM leader
You succeed.
That’s how.
I know that sounds a bit simplistic and I say it somewhat tongue and cheek… but there’s a lot of truth to it.
As mentioned earlier, you must learn to follow before you can effectively lead.
So let’s talk about 5 tangible steps you can take take to become one of those successful MLM leaders that you look up to.
1. Learn From MLM Leaders
When you get started with your network marketing company, you will be taught a system that other distributors in the network have used to become successful.
The system will likely be challenging. It will stretch you on more levels than you can imagine. You will certainly need to step way outside of your comfort zone.
But here’s the cold hard truth:
Success lives outside of your comfort zone. If it’s success you want, you have to go and get it.
Look, the leaders within your company want you to succeed and make good money. Because when you make money, they will make more too.
So you can rest assured that they will not intentionally steer you wrong.
The incentives within the network marketing business model are perfectly aligned.
Your leaders are financially incentivized to help you make more money.
So as you’re going through the training to build your MLM business, don’t doubt the system you’re taught.
Give it at least a year. And during that year, just do what you’re taught.
2. Produce Sales Volume
There is often a temptation in network marketing to focus too much attention on recruiting and constantly bring in more distributors…
But you need to understand that without actually selling products, no revenue is being produced.
Before putting all of your energy into recruiting business builders, you need to focus on building a loyal base of customers that will buy from you month after month.
Not only is it a necessity to create real revenue for your business, but it’s also way easier.
Think about it…
What would be easier, convincing a family member that they should start a home business, or selling them a product that might replace something they already buy on a regular basis?
The question was rhetorical.
I think you know the answer.
So if you spend 5 or 6 months focusing heavily on creating a loyal customer base, you will have built a whole lot of momentum for your business.
This is incredibly important because it will give you staying power.
Even if you’re only making a few hundred bucks each month, it’s something.
You will have proven to yourself that the business works, making it much less likely that you’ll quit when things get tough.
3. Recruit Builders
Sales volume is extremely important, but recruiting is necessary to create that life changing income in network marketing.
Let’s remember that sales volume is what’s required to produce revenue in network marketing or indeed, any business.
And the real power of a network marketing business comes when you can build a large network of distributors who are also focusing on making sales and bringing in revenue.
Eventually, when your team grows large enough, you will be earning way more income from the efforts of others than from your own.
It’s really where the leverage happens in this business.
Without the ability to build your own organization of distributors, you’re simply working a sales job.
So recruiting needs to (eventually) become a core focus in your day to day business tasks.
4. Focus On Duplication
Once you start bringing new distributors into your team, you will need to start consciously thinking about duplication.
Duplication is exactly what it sounds like…
You want your distributors to take the same actions that you did so that they can create the same success that you did.
So how can you get your team to duplicate you?
Simplicity.
Simplicity is the key to duplication.
You could go out and learn how to do high pressure closing tactics so that you could successfully recruit nearly everybody you talk to.
It would work.
You would recruit distributors.
But those distributors would not be able to duplicate what you did.
They would try… for a while. Then they would quit the business out of frustration. And you would be forced to constantly replenish your network.
You would really struggle to achieve that exponential growth and life changing income that network marketing promises.
The truth is, it doesn’t matter what works. A lot of things work. What matters is what duplicates.
We talked earlier about how you just need to follow the system that you’re taught. It’s very important you do so because it will serve to drive duplication.
The system, no matter which company you’re in, has been intentionally designed to achieve an optimal balance between simplicity and effectiveness.
Primarily, it was designed for duplication.
Any new distributor that you bring into the business will be looking to you for leadership… even if another leader in the organization happens to be training them.
Whether you like it or not, your distributors will be observing what you do.
And if you’re succeeding by simply following the system like everyone else, then they will do the same thing. And so will anyone that your distributor brings into the business.
This will have an exponential growth effect over time.

5. Teach Others What You Did
Perhaps you will someday have the desire to pass on your success to other folks on a larger scale like some of the MLM leaders we talked about earlier.
Perhaps you start your own coaching program. Maybe you write a book. Or start a podcast or YouTube channel.
As you become more and more successful in your business, opportunities will likely start to present themselves that will allow you to have a large impact on many people.
You shouldn’t think that any of the famous MLM leaders you read about had an easy time when they first got started.
Nobody was born a successful network marketer.
They had to do the hard work.
Don’t try to find a shortcut in network marketing.
Network marketing IS the shortcut.
So for now, just focus on building your business.
The most inspiring MLM leaders in the world got to where they are because they lead by example.
They did the hard work and inspired others to do the same.
And you can do it, too.
