There are many side hustle ideas to make money on the side that can dramatically improve your financial well being.
The truth about financial freedom is that it takes discipline. Living on a budget, saving regularly for a long time. Investing anything that you have left over.
You don’t necessarily have to make a ton of money. It’s about doing the right things with the money that you do make.
Sometimes however, there really is an income problem.
You may simply not make enough money.
But you increasing your income does not necessarily require a career change. You don’t have to go back to school if you don’t want to.
A little extra can go a long way, especially when it’s compounded over time.
And a little side hustle can turn into a life changing opportunity.
If that’s what you want.
Today we’ll talk about online opportunities as well as offline ones.
Offline Side Hustle Ideas

And often, when you think about making extra money, you may think that it’s only possible if you have technical computer skills.

Wrong.
There are many side hustle ideas that you can take advantage of that don’t require the internet at all.
And today we’re gonna talk about a bunch of them.
1. Lawn Care
If you enjoy lawn care and have some very basic equipment, you could start a side business doing yard care.
You could mow lawns, trim hedges, take down weeds, or even clear snow from driveways in the winter.
There are many people who are willing to pay someone good money to do these tasks. Some people may be physically limited while others don’t have the time to do it themselves.
2. Handyman

Another delivery side gig you can take advantage of is Amazon Flex.

It may not be a glorious job… but some trash collectors earn a full time income doing this, so it could even turn into more than just a side hustle.
13. User Testing
Companies will often turn to their customers to test their products for bugs and proper operation.
Companies like UserTesting, TryMyUI, and Analysia will turn to folks like you to test out their apps, websites, and other products.
Some of them will pay up to 10 bucks per test.
14. Tutoring
If you have a knack for teaching, you may be able to help out students who need a little extra attention in order to get their grades to where they need to be.
And these kids (or their parents) are willing to pay.

If you enjoy working with numbers, you can put your skills to work by providing bookkeeping services to small businesses.

20. Coaching
If you have a love for teaching, you might consider becoming a coach.
Yes, most sports coaching positions are done on a volunteer basis… but you can also find some paid gigs if you look hard enough.
But you can also become a life coach, career coach, or even a financial coach. These types of clients are often willing to pay good money for good guidance.
21. Event Planning
Who doesn’t enjoy a good party?
If you’re detail oriented and enjoy planning and putting together events or parties, then this may be an opportunity for you to raise your income.
There are always individuals and organizations who are looking for someone to put together an event for them. This could be parties, weddings, or business events.
If you’re new to this, you’ll want to start small. Like your niece’s birthday party for example.
And if it goes well, you could scale up and start putting together larger events and earn some income along the way.

Have you ever wondered who’s making all the money when you buy something from a vending machine?

Everyone loves baked goods, right?
But not everyone loves baking them.
This creates an opportunity for you if you enjoy baking. You can start by selling to people in your circle like friends and family. And then encourage them to get the word out.

26. Flip Houses
Flipping houses obviously requires a large amount of money to get started. But it can be a phenomenal way of making extra money.
They key is to find properties that are cosmetically in very poor shape.
If there’s a nasty smell or stained carpets and walls, you can often get the property for well below market value.

Owning rental properties is a wonderful way of earning passive income.
Again, this requires quite a lot of capital to get your foot in the door. And with rising interest rates, it’s critical that you know your numbers.

It’s worth noting that network marketing is not easy. And if anyone tries to tell you that it is, don’t believe them.
It takes hard work and time.
If you have the dedication and find a company with products that you’re passionate about, this can be a wonderful option to build a business that you can be proud of.

Online Side Hustle Ideas
Perhaps you have some tech skills.
And you’re intrigued by the idea of making money from your laptop, travelling the world.
It sounds like a pipe dream. But there are many people all over the world living the digital nomad lifestyle.
Whether you want to travel the world running an internet business or just make a few extra bucks while your kids are at school, here are some ideas to consider.
29. Online Surveys
Many companies out there are looking for your opinion to add to their market research… and they’re often willing to pay.
Doing these surveys can be an enjoyable way to make some extra money.
You can use a service like MyPoints.com, Survey Junkie, or SwagBucks to find surveys that you’re eligible for.
Be aware that you’re not going to qualify for most of the surveys that come your way. And you’re certainly not going to get rich doing this.
But hey, every bit helps, right?
30. Sell Your Hair
This is a weird one…
Honestly, the internet can be a weird place.
But people really are willing to pay for hair. So if your hair is getting a bit long and you’re gonna cut it anyway, consider selling it on HairSellOn to get some bucks for your locks.
Believe it or not, you can even sell pictures of your feet online.
Crazy, right?
But sites like Feet Finder allow you to earn passive income by selling your feet pics to those folks who are into that sorta thing.
31. Transcribing
This one might be on the way out due to the proliferation of AI…
But for now it’s still a viable way to earn extra income.
If you’re a fast typist and enjoy doing it, you can make money by listening to recorded audio and typing out what you hear.
You’ll need attention to detail and be a fast and accurate typist if you want to earn significant amounts of money.
You’ll also need to be trained and certified. Once you have your certification, you can use sites like Rev, Upwork, and TranscribeMe to find jobs.
32. Translation
If you are proficient in more than one language, you can capitalize on those skills.
You would be translating conversations or documents for clients and earn money doing it.
Upwork is a great place to find translation jobs.
34. Narrate Audiobooks
Audiobook narration is a majorly underrated way to earn some money online.
More and more people are self publishing books online. At the same time, more consumers are gravitating towards audiobooks rather than text.
This is an opportunity for you to get paid to read books. If you have a great voice, a quality microphone, and a soundproofed room, this could be an excellent way to make upwards of $100 per hour.
Audible published a detailed blog about what it takes to become an audiobook narrator.
35. Freelancing
Sites like Fiverr and Upwork offer all sorts of opportunities for your side gig endeavors.
If you have some basic skills, there are online entrepreneurs looking to save time by hiring you to do some of the work that they simply don’t have time for.
Some jobs available are:
- Build basic websites
- Edit photos
- Edit videos
- Create YouTube thumbnails
- Social media posts
- Write articles
- Write programs
The opportunities are nearly limitless and you don’t need to be very technically savvy to take advantage of this.
36. Build Websites
Building websites for local businesses can be a wonderful side gig for you to start.
Folks running small businesses are busy providing products and services to their customers… they often don’t have the time to think about their online strategies.
And honestly, it’s really not that difficult to do. You don’t need any coding knowledge since Worpress has made building professional websites more accessible than ever.
If you personally know any small business owners, start with them. You can build up a portfolio of websites and then start expanding to larger businesses (if you enjoy it!)
37. Social Media Ads Manager
Companies are always looking to increase their online presence.
And if you have skills running ad campaigns on social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, or Instagram, you can make a lot of money helping businesses in your local area.
This does require a strong skill set in analytics and the technical aspects of these platforms.
If you have these skills or are willing to learn, you could turn this into a thriving online business.
38. Search Engine Optimization
SEO provides another opportunity for those who have some technical skills ranking websites.
And if you target local businesses in your area, it’s really not that difficult to get websites to rank on the first page of Google for those searching locally.
Businesses are willing to pay good money for these services, especially when they start to see their client base growing because of the SEO work you’ve put in.
39. Freelance Writing
Do you ever wonder how sites like The Wall Street Journal publish so many articles every single day?
It’s because they hire writers from all over the world to write articles for them.
And you could become a writer for websites like these. You’ll need to decide on a topic to specialize in and become an expert.
You might be thinking that it could be super tough to get a writing gig for the New York Times… and you’d be right.
But there are many independent blogs out there looking for writers like you who are experts in a specific topic.
And they’ll pay for your writing and expertise.
40. Remote Customer Service
If you have a phone and reliable internet, becoming a remote customer service rep might be a good side hustle for you.
You can do everything from home without being micromanaged and the hours are very flexible.
You’ll obviously need to deal with some disgruntled or angry customers sometimes. But if you have a relatively thick skin, you could make some decent money doing this.
41. Virtual Assistant
Many small online businesses and entrepreneurs hire assistants that work remotely all over the world.
You would be completing tedious tasks that the business owner simply doesn’t have time for.
But some of these business owners are willing to pay good money to get some tasks off their plate.
42. Sell Products On Etsy
Etsy has taken the world by storm, especially since lockdowns were implemented and people were forced to stay home.
If you have skills making crafts (or anything really) you could sell your creations on Etsy.
This works really well because people trust Etsy and they only take a small commission from your earnings.
Some things you could sell are:
- Jewelry
- Artwork
- Decorations
- Clothing
- Accessories
Etsy published a good article outlining what it takes to become successful on their platform.
43. Affiliate Marketing
Did you know that companies like Wal Mart or Amazon are willing to pay you commissions for selling their products online?
You don’t have to deal with any shipping or billing. Just send a customer to one of their products through a special affiliate link…
And if the customer makes a purchase, you earn a commission.
You can also sell digital products like ClickFunnels, AWeber, or NordVPN.
You can sell these through an email list, a website, or your social media profiles.
44. Start An E-commerce Store
If you have a product to sell or an idea for a product, consider starting an E-commerce store.
Shopify makes this incredibly easy. You could have your own store up and running in minutes. And start selling your creation all over the world.
Shopify published an in depth article on their blog explaining what it takes to start a store on their platform.
45. Create and Sell Digital Courses
You probably have a skill that other people would be interested to learn.
Why not create a digital course and sell it on the internet?
Some skills you might have:
- Guitar
- Woodworking
- Finance
- Internet marketing
- Cooking
- Car repairs
The possibilities are endless and folks are always turning to the internet to learn new skills. And they’re paying to learn.
You can use a platform like Udemy, Teachable, or Kajabi to sell your course.
Kajabi has a great article outlining what it takes to succeed with this.
46. Blogging
You got something that you wanna share with the world?
Then you need a blog!
Blogging is, in my opinion, the best way to earn income on the internet. Pick a topic that you’re passionate about, build a website using WordPress, and start sharing your musings with the world.
There are several ways to monetize this:
- Place ads on your website
- Sell digital courses
- Sell physical products
- Grow a network marketing business
- Sell services
A blog is like the hub of your online presence. Whether you’re selling a course on Udemy or creating videos on YouTube, you should have a blog too.
This way, your customers can get to you directly without other platforms being involved.
It’s a wonderful way to grow an email list too.
And then sell your stuff directly to your email list.
47. Stock or FX Trading
If you have a passion for numbers, probabilities, and statistics, then you might enjoy trading in the financial markets.
Just don’t expect to make outrageous consistent returns. You’ll hear many online influencers talk about making crazy money and doubling their account size…
Be wary of these claims.
If you can beat the S&P500 index consistently, then you’re doing very well as a trader.
So this means you’re making roughly 15% per year. If you’ve got $10,000 that you’re trading with, you’re only making $1500 per year. That’s if you’re doing very well.
Doesn’t sound like a lot, does it?
But if you become a skilled and successful trader, you can trade other people’s money and keep a portion of your earnings.
Prop firms like The 5%ers, TopStep, or FTMO will give you an account of up to $1 million to trade. That’s when it becomes possible to make good money doing this.
Before trusting you with their capital, you will need to pass a challenge… and it will not be easy. It’s all about your psychology and managing risk.
But if you’re able to learn this skill, it can be a great way to earn good money while only working a few hours per day.
The best way to learn this skill is by going to NoNonsenseForex.com and take the course there.
It’s how I learned to trade. And it’s also where I learned about the opportunity of trading for a prop firm.
To wrap up…
We’ve covered a bunch of side hustle ideas to make more today. You can see that the possibilities are nearly endless.
But this is not an exhaustive list.
I only hope that, even if none of these ideas appeal to you, that they at least got your creative juices flowing.
Take some time to think about a skill or hobby of yours that you enjoy.
And then brainstorm ways to turn that into an income.
With the internet, you have monetize ANY hobby. No matter how obscure.
